Monica Bonvicini: Anxiety

Anxiety Attack at Modern Art Oxford, and Shotgun at Tramway, Glasgow, both held in 2003, were Monica Bonvicini’s first solo exhibitions in the UK.

From the mid 1990’s, Bonvicini emerged as one of a generation of artists who were expanding our experience of art to address broader concerns. Her work refreshed and extended critical discussions of space, and especially architecture, with her distinctly contemporary approach to feminism, instilling her works with humour and poetic sensuousness.
