Paul Hobson has been the Director of Modern Art Oxford since September 2013. Paul read History at Oxford University and completed post-graduate studies in aesthetics and contemporary visual theory. Working for more than twenty years in the art world, Paul joined the gallery as Director following senior roles at the Contemporary Art Society, The Showroom, the Serpentine Gallery and Royal Academy of Arts in London.

Dominic Loehnis (Chair)
Dominic Loehnis is a specialist executive search consultant for the media sector – spanning broadcast, publishing, and information services sectors, as well as venture capital-backed digital businesses. Dominic co-founded and was Managing Director of Monkey, a TV production company now owned by ComcastNBC. Previously, he was General Manager of AMFMi, a New York-based start-up launched to build an online business out of 450 US radio stations. Earlier in his career, Dominic was a strategy consultant for Booz Allen & Hamilton in New York; a new media strategist for Pearson plc, the British media group; Special Adviser to the UK’s Heritage (now Culture) Secretary; and a reporter for The Daily Telegraph.

Heidi Baravalle
Heidi Baravalle specialises in business development across a wide spectrum of industries. She was Managing Director of createthe group, Italy, a digital agency focused on fashion and luxury clients. She previously worked as a management consultant in the United States and Europe. Heidi is a patron of the Roundhouse and a supporter of several art institutions. Heidi has a BA from Harvard College in Government and an MBA from INSEAD.

Micaela Boas
Micaela Boas graduated with a BA in Latin American Literature from the University of Texas-Austin and an MA in Art and Arts Education from Columbia University. Before moving to London, Micaela was a Programme Director with Teach For America New York and the Arts Director at Explore Charter school in Brooklyn and worked with the schools programs at both the Whitney Museum and MoMA in New York.

Patrick Holmes
Patrick’s expertise is in property development and construction. He is a solicitor and was a partner in the City law firm Macfarlanes for more than a decade until 2011. Since then, he has broadened his skills into business consultancy and project management. He has been a non-executive director/adviser to various companies in the property and hotels/hospitality sectors. Passionate about art and museums, he is also a trustee of the charity responsible for the buildings and infrastructure at Portsmouth Historic Dockyard and of the Ragged School Museum Trust in Tower Hamlets.

Sebastian James
Sebastian (Seb) James is Senior Vice President, President and Managing Director of Boots. In this role he leads all of the Boots businesses including Boots Opticians across the UK and the Republic of Ireland. Before joining Boots, Seb was Group Chief Executive of Dixons Carphone from August 2014 to January 2018 following the merger of Dixons Retail Group with Carphone Warehouse. Seb is also a Non-Executive Director of Direct Line Insurance Group plc and a trustee of the charity Save the Children.

Béatrice taught French at Dulwich College. She was a member of the Advisory Board at Dulwich Picture Gallery with support for education. She sits on the Public Education Committee at RIBA. She chaired a successful appeal for the Quiristers at Winchester College. She is a Trustee of the Contemporary Art Society, sits on its Development Board and co-chairs the Frieze Acquisition Fund. She is a Trustee of the Lovington Foundation. She was born and raised in the Loire Valley (France).

Tania Rotherwick
Tania Rotherwick is Head of Content and Membership at Pi Capital. She was previously Chair of the International Advisory Council of APQ Global, an international emerging markets company. She has a background in finance, having worked for many years in equity derivatives, both in London and Paris. In addition to her role as a Trustee of Modern Art Oxford she is a longstanding Patron of ROSY, a charity providing respite nursing to children and young people in Oxfordshire.

Anna Yang
Anna Yang worked as a litigation lawyer for Sullivan & Cromwell in New York, and Freshfields in London. She is on the Advisory Board of McGill University Faculty of Law, has co-chaired the Collections Fund Committee for the Contemporary Art Society for the past two years, and serves on several non-profit boards and committees.
